Nuyear Nuyear ( Nuyork Nuyork stylee X ) )

Yes, we just hit ‘10. Yippee yay yay. I wish these milestones would give some sort of importance again but I guess those wide, bright eyed innocence filled with hope and dreams and butterflies and rainbows and shiz has long past. Missed, but not dwelled on. It’s a double ended sword thing. I think it’s pretty fair to assume anyone with a minuscule sense of sentimental would say they’d like to have child-like abilities to have fun at any given moment but at the same time be a mature, grown up adult too. Older, but wiser as they may put it.

That’s how I fancy seeing myself as, at the very least. My opinion counts too, no? = ) Didn’t do anything too groundbreaking to celebrate. Was hit by the hunger pangs around 2 hours before the clock strike midnight so went out and filled the gas first before queuing a long ass line at ze neighbourhood’s Mickey Dees. KLians would do anything for food – just another reason to add to the list why I’m so in love with this city = ) Once armed with food enough to feed a whole battalion of hungry armies, off to the heart of the city center. I have the Will of About A Boy’s fame disease. Comfortable Gen Y living that actually needs the hassle to find the trouble instead of the trouble coming to you unwelcome. Sure I’ve had moments of the latter situation too but let’s not go there hari baik bulan baik ni mkays X )

So the roads were surprisingly clear. For a New Year’s Eve standard, you understand. It only got a bit congested right in front of KLCC and Avenue K because people were stopping right on the road to get out of their cars and start to take pictures. I naturally followed suit of course. Not to be a sheep or anything but what else would you suggest I should have done? Ram over the cars and just drive on its roofs? Well the thought did cross my mind but for NYE’s sake and all, I passed. Timing couldn’t have been better because I got right in between KLCC/Avenue K just when the clock stroke midnight and the fireworks started going off. I could have blubbered like a real baby right there and then because the energy was so positive but I had the machoish get up on so again, I passed. Took some pictures which I had hope to post along with this entry but too lazy to fiddle with Devon Lima’s setting right now ( good enough la can force self to write this right away as it would have been unthought ofsay a couple of months ago. Sometimes all you need is a bit of a reflective scolding. Thanks ma X ) )

After about 20 minutes past midnight, people who parked right on the road were starting to make a move so I did as well. Thought of going to Doraisamy but the lame ass Pertahanan Awam peeps were controlling the traffic so I can’t even get past anything after the traffic light. One of them started to make a sign language of how packed the road is in order for me to divert my direction. Gave him a dirty look to live up to my wanker self whilst mumbling incomprehensibly just so he would see my mouth moving as if I was cursing him. Again, wank fulfillment, what can I say. I didn’t come out with the osem excuse of meeting up a friend somewhere in there but I guess he wouldn’t have entertained me by the prior dirty look and what could have been swear words aplenty towards him. Oh well, no biggie. Turned to Yap Kwan Seng and headed to Chow Kit Road to have a lil session of eye rinsing. The dua alam creatures were unfortunately not around. Well, there were some right towards the end but the ugliest of all ugly ones. Bottom of the barrel. Guess the hot ones were all already snatched by hungry customers. Yay seedy side of the city. Can’t have one without the other as far as I’m concerned ; )

Was contemplating to check out the celebration over at Bangsar and Hartamas but turned out Jln Pinang and P Ramlee were accessible so just conveniently smacked self in the middle of it all. Saw A LOT of expatriates or rather just some random mat salleh backpackers and wanks. Complete with the pointy party hats and devil’s horns for some. I thought it was Halloween instead of NYE for a moment there. Was actually waiting for someone to complete the get up with a tail and three headed spear thing but unfortunately no one came up for the role.

So anyways, did my usual round of Pinang, P Ramlee, Pavilion (usually back to P Ramlee again and off to home) but since haven’t paid Doraisamy a visit yet, headed straight off. It turned out to be so jam packed that the queue started to build up prior to the Sheraton Imperial lg so I let go of the niat suci murni to see the kids jln terhuyog hayang from all the fun of funny substances and made a U-turn to head home. Targeted to reach it around two but since I still had the audacity to check out what’s happening in Keramat and Setiawangsa, I only arrived at 2.30 according to the ever so reliable Astro decoder (which is what I christened as my punctuality machine coz I use it whenever I’m off to classes, or anywhere else for that matter, right before I leave the comfort that is home = ) ). So how was your NYE? Was it anywhere near as wasteful as mine? X )
